        JL did a good thing - adding a waistband to the "classic pencil skirt". It's VERY hard if you're big around the waist to wear their old style pencil skirt (the one that had no waistband) and not look sloppy. BUT why did they change the fabric? It's way too thick - kind of scratch wool - Use the old fabric - with the waistband and they'd have a great, classic skirt. If you have a waistband you can wear a blouse tucked in - or wear it out. I had to return it because of the fabric, though.

        The old JL wool "pencil" skirt had NO waistband - very - very unflattering -at least for my figure (heavy in waist). Very difficult to wear with a blouse tucked in. This, new updated wool "pencil skirt" has GREAT style - nice waistband instead of no waistband. You can wear with a blouse over OR tucked in. BUT - the wool is incredibly heavy, rough wool - not possible to wear in an office - or anywhere, really. Too bad they got the style right for a classic pencil skirt - but used bad THICK wool.

            Perfect black wool skirt! The lines are good, material's nice, fits well. Like most Jessica London stuff, make sure you size down from what you wear in bricks-and-mortars stores.It could be just a tad shorter for me -- I'm 5'5", and was hoping it would hit right at the bottom of the knee. Not horribly long though. How did I ever get along without it? Can't wait to wear it with the purple twin sweater set I purchased at the same time!
